시간을 가지고, 들어봐야할 여러 EFL 교사들의 발표들 : Virtual Round Table Conference

요즘 트위터를 통해서, 알게된 외국의 EFL 교사의 트윗 덕분에 가입하게 된 곳입니다. On-line Conference를 여는 데, 여러 나라의 많은 교사들이 참여합니다. 시차가 좀 나긴 하지만, 그래도 생방송으로 보지 못했었는 데, 이렇게 메일이 왔더군요. 친절하게 '녹화'하여, 저장해 두어서 언제든지 볼 수 있습니다. 

요즘 EFL교사들 사이에서 일반화되고 있는, PLN(Personal Learning Network)에 대해서 다룬 사람도 있네요.

저는 조금 전에,

라는 프레젠테이션을 봤습니다. 트윗터에 대해서 말하는 부분도 있는 데, 저의 트윗터 활용 방안에 대해서도 생각을 하게 하네요. 

얼마나 많은 사람들이 영어교육을 위해, 어떻게 하면 더 좋은, 더 잘가르치는, 학생들이 더 잘 배울 수 있도록 도와주는 교사가 될 수 있을 지에 대해 고민하고 있습니다. 이렇게 제 자리에 앉아서, 이런 사람들의 의견을 들을 수 있다는 게 감사하기만 하네요. 

계속 공부하다 보면, 지구 반대편 어떤 영어교사에게 제가 도움이 될 지도 모르겠네요.

A successful 3rd Virtual Round Table Conference

Dear all,

May I congratulate all of the presenters, co-organizers, helpers and sponsors to a successful 3rd Virtual Round Table Conference!

What an achievement: 524 unique vistors who stayed on average 58 min, 50 presenters and 32 hours of program, all of which was recorded!

The recordings have now been published in form of individual blog posts under the [RECORDINGS] tab on the conference site http://www.virtual-round-table.com.

A very impressive document which we call Conference Notes, with notes, links, summaries, images, links to slideshare can be found HERE. This is the result of a great collaborative effort and still work in progress. 

May we also express our gratitude to our sponsors for supporting the teacher training grant initiative with a total of 825 EUR. Thanks to English360, CELT Athens, ViTA, Exam English, Gapfillers, Language Bridge, Breaking News by Sean Banville, CWC Now and Marina Petrovic plus the 77 EUR which were collected during the online auction of products and services supplied by Myngle, LinguaTV, Gapfillers and Quality Time ESL, it will now be possible for 2 or even 3 courses to be co-financed with 50% of the course fee.

Please be invited to meet us all again this coming Friday and Saturday, 15-16 October for the SLanguages conference, which starts at 5pm GMT on Friday night in Europe (10am SL Time) and runs for 24h. 

More than 40 sessions are prepared to inform about best practise in language learning in virtual worlds. An exciting program which includes presentations, workshops, theatre plays, Second Life tours and kitchen fires. Be prepared for magic!
